When Kanye West Turned Silver for an Opera Performance
The definition of ‘artist’ stands true for Kanye West, who has proved to be a vault of creativity. Although a Grammy-winning rapper, it seems unjustified to regard him as just a rapper given his work in the fashion industry. That Ye had an infatuation with designing was evident from the onslaught of his career as he roped in maestros at art for designing his album careers. And soon enough, he hopped on the train as well. A flight where he met Nike’s then-CEO, Mark Parker, and sketched out Yeezy shoe designs ultimately convincing him that he is the man, to be more specific.
While Kanye West’s rise as a fashion mogul is interesting, and even inspiring if you do not read the aftermath, it is his personal outfits that beat them. And one of the best from Ye’s fifteen feet long closet is the silver outfit.

In his long-running career, Kanye West has often come across the word ‘iconic’. And it seems through his very creative actions that he might enjoy the association a bit too much. At least, that is the best way to describe his silver outfit from 2019. The Yeezy owner was decked in silver from head to toe. And we are not referring to the 47th element on Mendeleev’s periodic table or accessories. West paired his silver robe with silver shoes and silver pants. And he made up for the lack of accessories by spray painting himself silver.
While the description meets the standards of a MET Gala outfit, Kanye West wore this silver look to his performance at the Miami Marine Stadium. It was the beginning of Ye’s Sunday Church and the rapper performed ‘Mary’.
This outfit goes down in the books, not just because it has never been done. And will probably never be done again. But looking at it from a fashionista’s point of view, his look was way ahead of his time, as monochromatic outfits are now in trend. Not the same can be said about Ye’s designs, however.
Is it the end of Yeezy designs?

When the rapper first ventured into the dynamic world of fashion, many regarded him as someone who was fashion-forward. That compliment did not age well for the Yeezy owner, whose barely out-of-the-womb fashion empire came crashing down when he wore a ‘white lives matter’ t-shirt at the Paris Fashion Week in 2020. Soon enough came the antisemitic statements, and every major fashion brand deal cut him off.
Months later, however, Adidas, with billions of leftovers from their time together, has decided to put them up on sale again. And fans are already sinking their feet into it. But this is only the case with Yeezy footwear, which had been a ringer from the start. It has been appreciated for not just its design but its comfort. Things have been quite the contrary for the streetwear line he was working on with GAP, who has now sued him for $2 Million.
