Fans or not, there is no denying that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has established a legacy that will remain irreplaceable. The Atlanta rapper, as stated by several artists, happens to be the reason why many felt inspired to get into music. In a landscape of fleeting hits and vanishing artists, where Ye has released two volumes of 'Vultures' just this year, his first-ever track has become a mystery.

From Taylor Swift to Travis Scott, almost every famous artist that tops the chart has their own story of their first Ye track. And while fans swoon over the legend of Ye's first track as narrated by the others, the first ever track of the legendary rapper remains a forgotten hit.

Owing to 'Graduation' looming over the rest of Ye's work as the heavyweight masterpiece that it is, that 'Good Morning' is Ye's first-ever song remains a common misconception. However, the first song that Ye released was 'Through the Wire' in 2003. While this was the first official track, Ye had previously written, produced, and featured in iconic albums like 'Down to Earth'.

Ye and several others have reiterated just how passionate the rapper was during his earlier days, and as he hops from country to country, taking Hip-hop everywhere he goes, not a lot has changed. However, his first-ever track 'Through the Wire' was special, not because it was the beginning of a legendary career or because Ye's new music is allegedly washed out but because of the circumstances it was crafted under.

Much like most of Ye's work, there lies an endearing tale of creativity, and 'Through the Wire,' being his first, has the best of it.

What is the story behind Ye's debut?

Containing the magic of the 'old Kanye' at its best, 'Through the Wire' with its genius commentary wrapped in a lyrical masterpiece further rapped to perfection by Ye remains at the heart of Ye's inspiring career. However, the inspiring factor goes up by several notches, when one comes to realize that the track was written when Ye had met with an almost fatal car accident which landed him with his jaw wired shut, meaning that the song was literally 'Through the Wire'.

The accident landed the Atlanta rapper in the Cedars Sinai Hospital in LA, which he later notes on the track as the "same hospital where Biggie Smalls died." This, along with several other clever references intertwined between lines about Ye drinking the pancake syrup for dessert, which he was literally doing, provided the perfect dawn for the day that Ye was set to seize.
