On Monday’s episode of The Ryan Russilo Podcast, former ESPN analyst Todd McShay did not hold back, bluntly pointing fingers at Travis Kelce’s skyrocketing fame—thanks to what he calls the Taylor Swift effect—as the reason behind Kelce’s shaky start to the season. This comes right after Kelce logged just four receptions for 30 yards in a game Swift did not attend. 

“He’s been jet-setting around with the most famous person probably in the world,” McShay said, throwing shade at Kelce’s off-season party habits with Swift. He even contrasted the preseason Kelce from 2022 to this year. “The coverage and the respect he gets is the same, the athlete is not”, said McShay. Sure, drama comes with fame territory, but this kind of chaos definitely is not the chart-topping hit Swift is used to making.
