"We’re in 2014"- Travis Scott’s ‘Days Before Rodeo: The Prayer’ Performance Revives Decade-Old Nostalgia to Fans
It has been a decade since Travis Scott released 'Days Before Rodeo,' and it is still considered one of the greatest mixtapes of the current generation. The reason being, the 12-track project effortlessly slips into any mood- be it for a song to sooth the nerves, something to play on those rainy nights, or a soundtrack for cruising down the highway. And now, Travis Scott’s cult classic mixtape is making a grand return.
Ten years to the day since the popular mixtape first debuted, the rapper returned for a one-night-only show at the Masquerade’s Heaven room. It was presented by Spotify, and this would also be the first time 'Days Before Rodeo' hit the streaming services. With this latest Spotify x Cactus Jack Present 'Days Before Rodeo' show, Scott also wrapped up his second performance at the Masquerade’s Heaven room.

Travis Scott first took the stage at the venue in 2014, with a show in February alongside Juicy J, and another in July with The Neighbourhood and White Arrows. He dropped 'Days Before Rodeo' a month later, on August 18. And that is not all for the nostalgia quotient- Scott even announced the latest show on Tumblr, the very platform where he first broke the news of his Masquerade show in 2014. All of this has fans feeling like they have stepped into a time machine.
Fans have flooded social media, reliving the decade-old cult classic all over again in 2024.
Fans revisiting Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo era
Travis Scott currently has an exciting lineup of shows on his plate. Next month, he would embark on the South American and Australian leg of his Circus Maximus Tour. However, the surprise drop of 'Days Before Rodeo' was a bolt from the blue for fans. And now, they are all clamoring for more shows centered around the mixtape. Meanwhile, some fans have transported themselves down memory lane “like we’re back in 2014.”
Travis Scott seems to have also revived his GOAT status, judging by the flood of goat emojis in the reactions- although, the 'UTOPIA' rapper would probably crown someone else as the GOAT.
