Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez have been each other’s support through a series of ups and downs. Gomez sent shockwaves around the globe with her revelation of Lupus diagnosis in the year 2015, which led to the damage of her kidney. Raisa, who was a friend of Gomez, became the kidney donor, winning everyone’s hearts and respect. Following this event, both the stars went through a dark period of depression, which became the catalyst for their friendship. 

Over the years, both Gomez and Raisa found their bond surrounded by an avalanche of rumors and speculations. Recently, the How I Met Your Father actress set the record straight on her connection with the ‘Who Says’ singer.

The speculations surrounding Gomez and Raisa patching up after their repeat falling outs started circulating following Gomez’s Rare Impact Fund event. Both the stars coordinated their outfits for the event and showed up in glitzy silver gowns. While on the red carpet, the 35-year-old actress did an interview for Extra TV, where she opened up about her “tricky” friendship with Gomez. She also put the misconceptions about their feud over kidney transplants to rest. 

The actress reflected on the time when she first met Gomez at the children’s hospital and hit it off instantly over their boyfriend drama. Raisa went on to say that, “we trauma-bonded, which is beautiful”. However, it also got “rocky” when their priorities changed over time and they both sought some time off from each other. Nevertheless, the Grown-ish actress revealed that they still have a sisterly bond and their spat “had nothing to do with the kidney”.

The whole rumor about Raisa and Gomez’s feud started after the latter told Rolling Stone that she does not have friends in the industry other than Taylor Swift. This may have been a letdown for some people. However, seeing Gomez’s repeated display of love for Swift, it is safe to say that she was not entirely lying. 

Taylor Swift gave a green light to Single Soon

One can not talk about friendships in the industry without mentioning Swift and Gomez. Both the singers formed a friendship while dating the popular Jonas brothers, and have been best pals ever since. Seeing both singers cheer for each other at the 2023 VMAs was something that melted everyone’s hearts this year. Just a few days before the VMAs, a fan page shared an interview with Gomez on the iHeart show, Most Requested Live with Romeo.

During the interview, Gomez shared an interesting detail about her new song ‘Single Soon’, which proved how tight she was with Swift. The interviewer asked the 31-year-old singer if she shared the song with the ‘Lover’ singer. To which Gomez revealed that she always takes the green light from Swift before releasing any of her songs. Gomez also shared that Swift loved ‘Single Soon’ and went on to say, “I love her. She’s the best.”
