With Ye (formerly Kanye West)’s re-entry into the music scene after 18 months of radio silence, fans had no idea about the wild ride through three mini-eras. Packed with delays that could make a snail look speedy, and a few pesky industry roadblocks, ‘Vultures 1 & 2’ finally dropped, and fans felt like they had hit the jackpot. But just as the hype train was speeding toward the final release to wrap up one phase and launch Ye into a new chapter, Tyler, the Creator, tossed a wrench in the works, becoming the ultimate fork in his road.

This curveball came after Ye’s concert in Korea, where Tyler stepped in as the unofficial fan spokesperson.

Tyler, the Creator, and Ye go way back, and their mutual admiration has been the secret sauce behind tons of collaborations over the last decade. However, he was not about to sit back and let fans’ concerns slide. After leading a bold Instagram purge, leaving just one cryptic post from the ‘Vultures’ series, setting the stage for a solo Ye era, the rapper shared footage of performing ‘On Sight’ in Korea, where Tyler dropped the mic with, “Just say the words!!!”.

Having been the one to hype the Atlanta native, borrowing a bit of his musical magic along the way, this time, the switch of gears was a little unforeseen. However, it sparked a major buzz among fans who could not help but voice that during the ‘Vultures’ era, the rapper seemed to let the backing tracks do the heavy lifting. Even though Tyler tried to soften the blow with a few heart emojis since he was only looking out, just like the last time, many thought this was a game of musical whack-a-mole with these two!

Ye has announced the upcoming Yeezy season, but with Tyler, the Creator, playing the role of fans' advocate, it is hard not to remember a déjà vu moment. Back in 2023, Tyler caught flak for possibly taking a jab at Ye with his track ‘Stuntman’. In a fiery interview with Rap Radar, Tyler called out the public’s “terrible comprehension skills,” saying, “I would never diss—like, no, I love that n—ga.”

Tyler, the creator made it clear the song was about the world at large and absolutely had nothing to do with Ye. So, while there might be some drama, his clarifications and backpedaling show that their respect for each other is the real deal, and any perceived call-outs are just about genuine care.
