Two years ago, on a hot summer night in Atlanta, something remarkable occurred. Someone whom Travis Scott hailed as a prodigy, a ‘‘leader and a visionary’’ and others as a controversial figure, took over the Mercedes Benz Stadium with 40,000 fans. With no formal announcement, he played his unfinished album, named after his late mother. This is the tale of Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ listening party; an event that has left a mark on modern music history as one of its most unforgettable and influential milestones. And it has been two years to it.

Ye completely transformed the stadium into a replica of the house he grew up in back in Chicago. It was truly remarkable, with a cross on the roof. To everyone’s surprise, West brought out some guests who made the event even more unforgettable. Marilyn Manson, DaBaby, and even his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, made appearances. Kim wore a wedding dress, and it seemed like they were reenacting their vows right there on stage!

The album consisted of 27 tracks that covered various genres and captured different moods. Some songs delved into West’s struggles, such as his divorce from Kardashian, his mental health battles, and his deep connection to faith. However, post the Donda listening party, it is been 2 years since the rapper came out with a brand-new album.

Kanye West has not released any other music in the two years since Donda

Kanye West has been low-key in the music industry since the release of his 10th studio album, ‘Donda’ in August 2021. The album garnered attention and praise for its production and thematic elements, even breaking streaming records on Spotify and Apple Music. However, since then West hasn’t released any music or provided any updates on upcoming projects.

Instead, West has when underground post the anti-Semitic comments he made and the controversies and partnerships he lost with all of them. Currently, he is in a cozy state of affairs in Japan with wife, Bianca Censori. And fans only got one song ‘Concussion’ from him which he featured in. Rumors have circulated about collaborations with local artists, but nothing concrete has materialized thus far. As for albums or musical endeavors, West has remained tight-lipped without sharing any official updates. Fans eagerly anticipate a new masterpiece from the rapper.
