2023 has been one year of epiphany in the musical arena. But the leading name that grasped the breath of numerous titles and recognition was that of Taylor Swift. While her record-breaking streak built up steam for many headliners, it appears that she fell one leg short against BTS singers for one of the categories.
Taylor Swift could have been the bagger of every title, considering her unwavering influence this year. However, the Guinness Record holder showrunners took a leap of eclipse.

Of late, Grand Theft Auto’s sixth installment trailer was giving steep competition for bidding a place against BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ with a sizeable viewership. Not only did BTS maintain its position in that segment, but its stars also outshone Taylor Swift in the category of Top Songs of 2023. Taking the first spot as well as the second, Jimin and Jungkook reached the zenith, leaving Swift behind.
The number one title was bagged by Jimin for his second solo debut, ‘Like Crazy’. With 247,848 votes, it is now the song of the year. Following a close call to the figures, Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ is a receiver of 236,977 votes, becoming the second most-played song. And to the disbelief of many fans, Taylor Swift’s ‘Cruel Summer’ vouching for the third rank came along with 197,622 votes.
Although Swift’s run in the contenders for this segment fell a little short, here is a list of titles that did witness her numero uno.

Furthermore, her single ‘Cruel Summer’ bagged the first position on the Billboard Hot 100. Considering the list might fall short of fitting in pages, from Grammys to VMAs, there is no doubt that even with the slip out, Swift is the queen of the year for all the right reasons.
