Travis Scott Teases An Exciting Ye Collaboration, As Rap World Beef Turns Cold

Published 05/09/2024, 9:55 PM EDT

After weeks of heated exchanges that injected much-needed energy into the hip-hop world, it seems that the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake is simmering down. Not only did they single-handedly shake up the hip-hop scene, but they also dropped some chart-topping bangers in the midst of it all. This has also prompted other rappers, not necessarily involved in the beef, to step up their game to maintain their relevance in an industry currently focused on Lamar and Drake.

Now that the beef seems to be settling, Travis Scott and Ye, known as Kanye West, have seized the perfect opportunity to launch themselves into the spotlight.

It is no surprise for artists to maintain an air of mystery all the time. And that is precisely how Ye and Travis Scott are drumming up excitement for their rumored collaboration. The 'UTOPIA' rapper recently teased a supposed collaboration with Ye in a brief Instagram video. The clip started with a close-up of Ye's face, with glimpses of his blinking eyes, tattooed skin, and gloved hands. Towards the end, the words “Cactus Jack” appeared in red, which is also the name of Scott's record label.

"YE AND THE JACK," the 33-year-old captioned the post. He also gave a shoutout to Gabriel Moses by tagging the fashion photographer. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the fruits of this collaboration, hoping for a musical collaboration to drop out of the blue. However, whether they are cooking up something behind closed doors is still a mystery. Meanwhile, another heavyweight rapper has some fresh beats locked and loaded, ready to hit the airwaves in the aftermath of the rap feud.

Future is on fire this year and is not about to pump the brakes anytime soon. The Atlanta rapper hit up X on Wednesday, May 8, to announce the return of 'Mixtape Pluto' and tease a release for Friday, May 10. He tweeted “F*ck yo album S*it ain’t slappin like my MIXTAPE”. After dropping 'We Don’t Trust You' in March and 'We Still Don’t Trust You' in April, both of which added fuel to the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, Future is ready to drop his third project in May.

While the first two albums were collaborations with Metro Boomin, this new mixtape seems to be a solo project. Future, in a way, has also been entangled in the beef after Drake took a moment to address his fallout with him during the feud. But when it comes to Ye, despite his attempts to interject in the feud in favor of Kendrick Lamar, it seems doubtful that he has any music ready to drop soon. Nonetheless, anticipation for 'Vultures 2,' especially with Travis Scott's rumored cameo, is still keeping fans eagerly awaiting.
