Travis Kelce May Be a Victim to Media Over-Exposure Amid Taylor Swift Romance, Worry Managers as They Plan Tone-Down
2023 marked the beginning of a blossoming romance of the next biggest American power couple in the form of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The latter half of the last year gave way to swift developments that saw a massive surge in the popularity of the NFL tight end, due to a combination of various factors. He did gain the full limelight of the swifties, but alongside it, the record-breaking footballer also landed a host of media deals contributing to an uptick in his fortunes.
As celebratory as it may sound, his time in the continuous spotlight has made his managers wary, who are now planning for a scale-down.

In his own right, Travis Kelce is as much self-made as any. However, while his on-field prowess earned him several accolades, his time with Taylor Swift opened an entirely different arena. Grabbing entertainment headlines, the footballer now stood recognized by about 63% of Americans in comparison to just 38% in the previous year. Talking to the New York Times, André and Aaron Eanes, Kelce’s managers, highlighted that the over-exposure may hamper Kelce’s “authenticity”.
Pledging to mold their client’s persona from now on with “quality over quantity,” the managers are right on the popularity surge. Landing himself as the poster boy for brands such as Nike, Bud Light, State Farm, Experian, Pfizer, and DirecTV, Travis Kelce has received a significant spike in media deals. Finally, after hosting Saturday Night Live last year, he has now taken to trademark a bunch of words and phrases revolving around him.
If the ever-evident effect of Taylor Swift had not felt that impactful enough, recent NFL games could factor in telling the tale.

The 25th December game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders may have ended in a loss for Travis Kelce’s side, but thanks to Taylor Swift, it broke past an NFL viewership record. Clocking in over 29 million viewers, the duo’s romance once again played its part. Moreover, along with the camera panning to the singer now and then, the match also marked a classic repeat of mislabeling by the commentators.
Not much later, for the New Year’s Eve game between the Chiefs and Bengals, all attention went to the duo’s presence in the after-party. Furthermore, with Swift firmly lodged in as a billionaire, it only remains a matter of time before the couple starts to eclipse other major ones. Regardless, as of now, Kelce may have to tone down his media appearances, which, in theory, might prove to be an uphill battle.
