Travis Kelce’s Father Invites Severe Fan Criticism, Following His Comments for Ye’s Latest ‘Vultures 2’

The music industry’s complexities are constantly in flux, making it challenging for fans to stay updated on every detail. Nevertheless, even the lackadaisical observers have valuable insights into what made the dynamics between Taylor Swift and Ye (formerly Kanye West) so compelling. Though these conflicts might be history, their infamous disputes still linger and often resurface in explicit forms through their music. While feuds and chart battles are common in the industry, a recent controversy has put an unexpected figure at the center: Travis Kelce’s father, following his comments on ‘Vultures 2’.

Earlier this month, Ye finally released the long-awaited album ‘Vultures 2’, and just hours later, Taylor Swift dropped a new digital edition of ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ While fans quickly speculated that Swift was attempting to overshadow the Atlanta rapper, the situation escalated in the following days. On Thursday, Ed Kelce took to Facebook to share an article highlighting Ye’s lyrical mention of Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce in the track ‘Lifestyle (Demo’) featuring Lil Wayne, criticizing it as “mental illness on full display.”

The verse reads, “I twist my Taylor Spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce”. Although the lyric is relatively mild, it adds to the long-standing animosity between Ye and Swift, which started when West interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. However, Ed Kelce faced severe backlash for not realizing that the verse in question was performed by Lil Wayne, not the ‘Donda’ rapper.

Consequently, Ye’s fans rallied in support of the rapper while making some strong remarks about both Swift's fans and Kelce’s father.

Travis Kelce’s father and Taylor Swift fans get the heat of Ye's supporters over a lyrical mishap

Historically, Ye has referenced Taylor Swift in his lyrics before, and the longstanding feud has resurfaced multiple times. However, it is unusual that someone outside the immediate conflict, specifically Travis Kelce’s father, has been drawn into the dispute. Whether or not his father was aware of which verse was performed by whom, Ye’s fans were unyielding in their criticism.

Many fans were focused on clarifying that the lyrics in question were not from Ye, with some subtly targeting Ed Kelce. Others brought Swifties into the discussion, criticizing the mistake as indicative of their typical intelligence level.

The thread was filled with non-Swifties, many of whom remarked that they had not even listened to the song, which could have spared them from the perceived embarrassment. While many found it puzzling to interpret the lyric as a diss, fans remain resolute in not offering any leniency. For now, it seems like a classic case of backfire, with Kelce’s dad and her fans, rather than Swift, in the spotlight.
