The White House Expresses Concerns About X’s Rules After the Taylor Swift AI Scandal
In the last few years, the world of technology has intertwined with that of Hollywood. While it might be thanks to the internet and AI, it recently took a rather dark turn. Just days ago, a new hashtag on X (formerly Twitter) went viral. It was Taylor Swift AI. Although most of her fans expected cute dance or concert videos, the reality was far from it. The tag featured pictures of the singer in compromising NSFW images that stunned her fans.
Now, days after the Swifties banded together to hide the inappropriate tag and its content, a representative from the White House has shared concerns. This time it was over the social media platform’s rules and regulations.

According to reports from USA Today, it was revealed that the White House was now raising concerns over Taylor Swift’s non-consensual AI scandal. The press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, stated that the misuse of artificial intelligence was “alarming.” However, she also stated that social media platforms like Instagram and X had a responsibility to enforce “their own rules to prevent the spread of misinformation and nonconsensual, intimate imagery of real people.”
Jean-Pierre also stated that “lax enforcement disproportionately impacts women.” However, it also impacted younger girls as well. The statement about the incident surrounding Swift comes after many social media users had taken to their X accounts to ask Elon Musk to shut the hashtag down. While they got no response from the tech genius, the fans managed to find a way to protect their favorite pop star.
Although the Swifties seem to have gotten things under control for now, it is up to the 34-year-old whether she wants to take things further or try to bury it.
Taylor Swift could sue Elon Musk’s X
Just a day ago, it was revealed that Taylor Swift was thinking of taking legal action against Elon Musk’s X. Her plans to sue came out after one of the non-consensual AI-generated images of her had stayed up on the site for over 17 hours. While the singer chose not to publicly acknowledge the pictures or what her fans had done for her, it looks like she is working on a plan to stop the misuse of artificial intelligence.
