In a turn of events that could easily rival the most dramatic plot twists, Los Angeles, the glittering epicenter of fame, found itself ravaged by one of its worst wildfires in recent memory. The tragedy followed in the wake of the Golden Globes, where a slew of stars had just made show-stopping appearances on the red carpet, only to return home to find their luxury estates consumed by flames. Taking into account the current situation, in an almost ironic move given the name, The Weeknd has decided to push back the release of his 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' album to January 31.

To further express his solidarity with the city that has been the backdrop to so many of his hits, the singer has canceled his Rose Bowl show. The album getting delayed has definitely brought about anxiety among fans, given that this is his first album since 2022 and the artist has been absent from the music scenery since then. Not to mention, this was also going to be the Canadian singer's first music drop since his largely controversial acting debut with The Idol, which Lily Rose Depp to this defends with all her heart.

As the wildfires push to the corner even the most thoroughly planned events of Hollywood and the music industry, it becomes clear that the only globe that is safe from natural disasters is the Golden one. The rest of the events, ranging from the announcement of the Oscar nominees to the Grammy Week Party, have been either delayed or canceled.

The Weeknd's Rose Bowl show was one of the greatest events to have taken a hit during the wildfires, while others included several Grammy parties held by various studios. Concerts are not the only ones finding a seat in the canceled category, as celebrities like Meghan Markle are delaying the release of their Netflix shows to honor the city as well. However, as the city truly gets cold and empty with everyone getting blinded by the lights, the sequence of events has audiences deeply reflecting on how life imitates art.
