According to a recent report by Cowboy State Daily, authorities are inching closer to solving the mystery of a Washington D.C. man who vanished over four years ago after his car was found abandoned on a remote mining road in Big Horn Country. Back in July 2020, 28-year-old David Richardson set off for Wyoming, telling folks he was on a mission to "help Kanye West." Despite exhaustive searches by foot, horseback, drone, and K-9 teams, not a single trace of the superfan has been discovered.

Fresh leads from the FBI, teaming up with the Big Horn Sheriff’s Office and D.C.'s Metropolitan Police, have helped clear up Richardson’s 1,600-mile trek to Wyoming. Originally, it was thought he cruised through Nebraska, but now, the FBI's high-tech tools suggest he actually took a detour through the Big Horn Mountains, according to Sheriff Ken Blackburn. Richardson was allegedly headed to Ye’s Wyoming properties in Cody and Greybull.

Although the authorities declined to elaborate on the refocus, it did talk about new leads that are continually being followed up on. The report further outlines a key piece of evidence in the case.

According to Cowboy State Daily, there is no solid proof that Davante Richardson made it to either ranch. After his family lost all contact and reported him missing on July 22, 2020, his abandoned Jeep Compass was discovered a week later on a haul road, about 7 miles outside of Greybull. Surprisingly, the car had no mechanical issues. Inside, investigators found his digital gear, including a cellphone, two laptops, and a charging cord, according to Sheriff Ken Blackburn. 

Missing, however, were his clothes, travel bag, wallet, bank cards, and any ID. Even more bizarre, there has been zero activity on his accounts since he disappeared. What really stood out to Blackburn was the car’s spotlessness—no fast food wrappers or road trip trash, despite nearly 24 hours of driving. While all signs point to something way out of the ordinary, the mission remains clear: to lend a hand to the fan who was rushing to assist the 24-time Grammy-winning rapper.
