"That's insane"- Fans Shocked by Ye’s New Legal Charges as They Can’t See Any Violation by the Rapper

Yeezy's business practices, alleged use of racist and inflammatory language, berating employees, handling the controversial school he founded in 2022, and unauthorized sampling of songs- Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been at the center of at least 13 major lawsuits in just two years. And one lawsuit that keeps hanging over him is for copyright infringement. Just hours after ‘Vultures 2’ dropped, Ye was already facing accusations of borrowing from others' work without permission.

Now, ‘Vultures 2’ has caused even more problems for Ye. The ‘Graduation’ creator is being sued by BackGrid USA Inc. and Backgrid London Ltd for posting paparazzi photos of himself and Bianca Censori on Instagram and his Yeezy website. These photos were taken at the ‘Vultures 2’ listening party in Los Angeles. Ye is accused of using 10 photos without paying the price. The slip-up has cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue per picture. This action trod on the wrong side of federal copyright law.

The company further claimed that Ye leveraged the photos to line his pockets and boost traffic on his website and social media. BackGrid USA Inc. insisted they tried to settle things with the rapper, but their attempts came up empty. Now, they have taken the matter to court and are asking for $150,000 per photo, plus injunctive relief and legal fees. Fans, however, are not on board with this.

Fans defend Ye against the copyright lawsuit

Everyone thought that after Ye made his musical comeback following the controversial year that had him pulling away from the industry, the rapper might finally focus more on his music and less on his divisive image. But that has not been the case. Somehow, post-comeback, Ye has been drawn into even more controversies. While fans have given him grief over most of these issues, this time, they are standing by him, as the lawsuit seems off to them. “That’s insane,” one fan commented.

Meanwhile, others pointed out that Ye seems to be getting sued for just about everything and anything imaginable.

Other than this messy lawsuit, the recent ‘Vultures 2’ party had one silver lining. Ye served up some new music and teased the unreleased ‘Unlock’ as he took control of the music with an aux cord. Now, fans are crossing their fingers for Ye to either drop a solo album or release some of his hidden gems from the vault. However, the ongoing controversies do not seem to be giving him the space to address these fan requests anytime soon.
