In the record industry, not many have shown the amount of authority in breaking records like Taylor Swift has done in the past year. After breaking several Spotify records, Swift was even acknowledged with an exclusive star symbol feature for her track streaming. Now with the new year’s onboarding, the songstress has stepped in to reset the chapter of records with fresh milestones. And the recent addition to it is her Grammy-nominated studio album ‘Midnights’, surpassing 8 billion streams on Spotify.
As a seasoned holder of Spotify records, this is not the only score she has mastered with ‘Midnights’. The album has even become the fastest female album to achieve that figure in Spotify’s history to date. Since the album has also been nominated twice for this year’s Grammy Awards, this accomplishment could set an avenue for twice the recognition and twice the probability of taking home the trophies.
While the Spotify record surely opens a direction for amplification of Swift’s winning chances, let’s take a look at the other factors that could also majorly contribute to the ‘Midnights’ conquest.
Records Broken by Taylor Swift’s Midnights’
For the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ has been on the nominee list for both the Album of the Year and Pop Vocal Album of the Year categories. While that makes her chances of winning twice as much, here are the other reasons that could contribute to the album’s trophy addition. Back in 2022, after the album’s release, it recorded a bombshell streaming frenzy with 228 million Spotify streams in 24 hours.

Furthermore, her ‘Snow on the Beach’ track with Lana Del Rey also broke the record for most single streams for an all-female collaboration on Spotify with 15 million streams in a day. The album even achieved the biggest streaming weak for any album by a woman with 549.26 million streams in the debut week. Since on the way, Swift also broke records previously held by Drake, Lady Gaga, and Ariana Grande, it is now showtime to wait and watch if ‘Midnights’ makes history for the Grammy night as well.
