Among the many titles that Taylor Swift carries, a non-official one is 'the most probable winner'. Over the past few years, as Swift gained ownership of her own music through re-released tracks and embarked on a worldwide musical tour that has shaped up to be one of the biggest of all time, she has become one of the strongest contenders at award shows, especially the MTV VMAs.

The past year saw 'The Tortured Poets Department' garner the most wins in a single night at the VMA's and, as the 2024 nomination list has surfaced, the odds do seem in her favor to be the greatest of all time, Beyoncé herself.

While Taylor Swift garnered a trailblazing eleven nominations last year at the MTV VMA's, this year she has failed to match her own freak. Despite the number of nominations dropping by an inch, Swift's stature still remains as mighty as ever as she edges closer to Beyoncé's title of the Most Awarded Artist at the MTV VMA with her 29 wins. The 'Fortnite' singer currently has 23 Moonmans, and if she manages to win in 3/4th of the categories she is nominated for in 2024, she shall reign as the most-awarded artist of the award ceremony.

The Eras Tour headliner has been nominated for eight prime categories this year, which also includes the Video of the Year and Artist of the Year that the singer has for the past years been reigning. However, given that the VMA has cherry-picked underdog Hozier this year, perhaps it is going for a surprise element. Even if she does not win one of the above categories, Swift can still manage to outshine Beyoncé at the VMA 2024.

Despite all that the two female artists have achieved, their names when written next to the VMAs, are reminiscent of one historical moment that is ebbed in pop culture.

With both having released albums this year, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are truly going neck to neck at this year's MTV VMA. However, nearly a decade ago when Swift was merely a rising singer and Queen Bee was well Queen Bee, an incident occurred that changed the music industry's brain chemistry, all thanks to Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, who thought Beyoncé deserved the Best Female Video more than Taylor Swift.

As the two ladies battle it out in 2024 for the title of the most-awarded artist, Ye does not seem to be in the race as of yet. However, with how things are unfolding for 'Vultures 2', Ye's luck might finally spark up, and the rapper might once again find his name on the list of nominees for various award shows, including the Grammy Awards.
