Despite Grande's album being her biggest female debut until this Friday, Swift stole her thunder with her drop.

The comparison might also come from the fact that both albums touch on similar themes of heartbreak, breakup, and the stages of grief. Both songstresses appeared to be addressing the person who caused them pain, the one they were trying to move on from. This clash of themes, along with the division of streaming numbers, has torn fans of Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande in two.
