It has been nearly five months since the Eras tour started. Making ripples in the industry, Taylor Swift has established herself as a pop-culture stalwart once again. Not only did the tour pull her up as the artist with the highest single-day sales, but she also had cities being renamed in the tour’s honor. Glendale, Houston, and Santa Clara even switched their names up for the concert days. Additionally, the singer’s ‘August’ song hit 2.158 million streams, jumping to the 43rd spot on the Spotify global rankings.

But this is not where the singer stopped. The ‘Blank Space’ singer hit the top charts for nominations for this upcoming award show.

Taylor Swift gets nominated for this award, again

As she wraps up her US leg of the Eras tour this month, the ‘Love Story’ singer will be attending as a record-breaker at the MTV Video Music Awards. Already continuing her Video of the Year nomination and hopefully winning tradition, she also emerged as the singer with the most nominations up her belt. Securing a place in eight categories, the ‘Bad Blood’ singer beat the others by a huge margin. Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith, and others are at five each, while Shakira and BLACKPINK follow suit with four nominations.

Additionally, MTV also opened up their virtual voting booths. It is scheduled to take place on September 18, in New Jersey. And her Eras tour perfectly syncs up with it, with a gap from August 27 to November 9.

The add-on of her accolades once again proved her influence as an icon. And without a doubt, the Swifties assembled to cheer her as MTV rolled out all its nominations.
