This is the Taylor Swift era that Swifties have been yearning for, for years. From electrifying Eras Tour performances to a cascade of music releases, the pop star is not giving her fans a chance to catch their breath. No one expected 'The Tortured Poets Department' to morph into a double album with multiple variants. This has not only maintained a constant flow of music for fans, but also ensured that Taylor Swift remained firmly planted at the top of the music charts. However, it seems she has still been upstaged.

Four songstresses, including her BFF Selena Gomez, have managed to steal Taylor Swift's thunder on one popular list.

Taylor Swift has consistently been in the top positions on every chart she has entered in recent years. Her growing popularity and the frenzy Swifties bring have made the pop star a formidable force, surpassing even legendary musicians like The Beatles. However, she fell behind four songstresses on the list of the top 10 most globally recognized female artists in history based on the number of distinct languages on Wikipedia. The artists who surpassed Swift were Lady Gaga, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Selena Gomez.

Taylor Swift scored 136 on the list, while the four songstresses scored over 140. The list also included artists such as Celine Dion, Rihanna, Shakira, Edith Piaf, and Avril Lavigne. While the creator of 'Red' may have lagged behind in the distinct language category, she remained unbeatable in her territory- the global streaming platform Spotify. She became the second female artist in the top 10 of another coveted list, alongside Ariana Grande. In fact, she appeared to have surpassed music's top dogs, including Drake, once again.

'The Tortured Poets Department' was released on April 19th and has since become the center of conversation among Swifties. While the album broke many records, including being Taylor Swift's longest album to date, it was her surpassing of Drake that truly became a talking point. Billboard reported in April that Swift's album broke the record for the most streams earned in a single week in American history. This record was previously held by Drake's 'Scorpion', which had 745 million streams in the US.

'The Tortured Poets Department' received a whopping 799 million streams on both Spotify and Apple Music in only six days. However, Swift had barely scratched the surface in the first week; after 7 days, she became the first artist to reach a billion streams on Spotify with her latest album.
