Taylor Swift Officially Becomes the Top-Selling Global Recording Artist of the Year
2023 seems to have been the year of Taylor Swift. With the singer not only dominating the music scene with two re-released albums but also her world tour and concert film, she was constantly in the spotlight. Even her new relationship with Travis Kelce and her epic Time’s Person of the Year win ended up putting the 34-year-old at the center of attention. Now, just a couple of months since the new year began, the pop sensation has landed another insane achievement.
While she might have been pushed to second place by Kanye West on Spotify recently, it looks like she is still the biggest artist in the world.

According to reports from IFPI, an organization representing the worldwide music industry, Taylor Swift won the 2023 Global Recording Artist of the Year Award. It was not her first time landing this award. It was the pop sensation’s 4th time bagging the award. The 34-year-old had won it based on the number of sales, streams, downloads, and more she had managed to rack up.
After all, with The Eras Tour, ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ and even ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, Swift managed to bring in a lot of money for herself and her crew. She might still be on top of the world when it comes to her success. However, this year could just end up taking the singer to some brand-new heights. After all, with a brand new album coming up in April and her beau, Travis Kelce, joining her on tour, 2024 might just be her biggest year yet.
Although the singer has managed to carry the Eras Tour by herself for so long, it looks like fans might be more than excited about the Kansas City Chiefs star joining her in Sydney.
Will Taylor Swift celebrate her win with Travis Kelce in Sydney?
Ever since the Super Bowl ended, Swifties have been counting down the days till Travis Kelce joins Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour. While it was initially revealed that they would be spending quality time in Europe, it looks like the distance began getting to them. In a recent interview, Ed Kelce, the athlete’s father, teased that his son could potentially wind up in the land down under to support the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer.

While neither Swift nor Kelce has addressed the claims, the singer’s latest win could be a reason for the tight end to ditch his relaxing game of golf to celebrate with his girlfriend. After all, the 34-year-old has gone out of her way time and time again just to make an appearance at his NFL matches. It would be great to see the athlete return the favor.
