Taylor Swift Leads While Kanye West Is Last on a New Spotify List
For years, Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been pitted against each other. It all began back in 2009 when the rapper stole the singer’s VMA moment and that is when everything spiraled. Although they both are incredible at what they do, their fan bases have despised each other ever since the unfortunate incident at the awards show. However, now, after over a decade of debating which artist was better, a brand new Spotify list has answered the age-old question.
While most people would have expected them to fill in the first and second spots on the list, that was not what ended up happening.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed that Spotify had put together a new list of the most streamed global artists. The data was collected on January 15th and, as of that date, Taylor Swift wound up as number 1. It came as no surprise as she took over the world with her music and ‘The Eras Tour’ last year. However, what surprised fans was the fact that Kanye West was number 10 on the list.
While it might have been a rather huge blow to all his fans, the rapper has not acknowledged the list yet. Apart from the two forever feuding stars, The Weeknd, Drake, 21 Savage, and Bad Bunny filled the top 5 of the streaming list. Even Ariana Grande made her way to number 8 on the list after making a comeback to music with her ‘Yes, And?’ debut just 4 days ago.
Although fans of Ye might be feeling a little down in the dumps over the recent Spotify list, the sudden drop in streams comes after he delayed his upcoming album, not once, not twice, but three times.
Kanye West’s ‘Vultures’ delays
For the last year now, Kanye West has been promising his fans some fresh music. While he may have given them a few tracks like ‘Dear Summer’ and ‘Vultures’, the 46-year-old ended up delaying his collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. Even though he had shared some tracks with the world at a listening party in December, just shortly after that he pushed back the ‘Vultures’ album as he was still tweaking it.

West then decided to drop the album on New Year’s Eve, but even that plan never came to fruition. Now, just days ago, Ye did it again. The album was set to release on January 12th but unfortunately ended up being put on hold indefinitely. It looks like his indecisive and perfectionist behavior might be affecting his streaming numbers now.
