Taylor Swift Is Injecting $ 113 Million Into Sydney’s Economy With Her Lucrative Eras Tour
The best part about being a Swiftie? One does not have to be physically present at her concerts to have been touched in some way by the Eras Tour. The tour has been historic in more than one way. It has not only made Taylor Swift the most powerful female pop star in the world but has also contributed significantly to ‘funflation’, an entertainment-driven economic boost, in the US. By the time the Eras Tour winds down, it could bring in a staggering $5.7 billion boost to the country’s economy.
This could mean doling out $440 to each resident in Swift’s home turf of Pennsylvania, or almost enough to slip a $20 bill into the hands of every American. But why should the U.S. have all the fun with ‘swiftonomics’? Taylor Swift is spreading the same economic boon to Australia too!

Down under, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour began on February 16th with back-to-back sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Swift delivered three consecutive nights of electrifying concerts in Melbourne, giving the biggest concert of her entire career. Now, the Eras Tour is forecasted to shower Sydney with a whopping $113 million in economic gains. Overall, it is set to inject at least $558 million into Australia’s economic bloodstream, as per finance guru Angel Zhong from RMIT University, reported by Forbes.
With 620,000 tickets sold for Australian shows at $900 apiece, Zhong predicted the economic impact on the Australian economy to exceed half a billion dollars. Moreover, the academic researcher also pointed out that the global spotlight on the record-breaking show could potentially boost future tourism to Australia’s stunning shores as well. Considering the significant influence she wields and the potential she has to contribute to her country, it is no wonder she has been a highly sought-after presidential nominee.
Although it is improbable for the songstress to enter the presidential race, she could still exert a substantial influence in the 2024 presidential elections.

There have been a lot of talks about artists diving into politics lately. With Kanye West openly backing Donald Trump and eyeing the presidency last year, Swifties banded together to champion Taylor Swift as a political figure. And now, it seems the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer has inspired a whole new generation to get involved in the democratic process. According to USA Today, Taylor Swift persuaded 30,000 individuals to register during National Voter Registration Day last September.
Turnout experts had also forecasted a significant youth voter turnout for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. With Joe Biden facing off against Donald Trump once more, the influence of these new voters is expected to be substantial. Given her massive economic and political influence, it is fair to say that Taylor Swift has become one of the most influential figures across the globe.
