Taylor Swift’s Fall From Grace: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Falls Out of Top 3 on Billboard, After 12 Weeks of Heading It

When Taylor Swift dropped ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ in April, she did so with a bang. With streamlines of Easter eggs overflowing via her promotional genius, she made her record reach heights that only a select few musicians have witnessed in their careers. Despite being regarded as her career-best record with a streak of unsparing dominance on Billboard 200 for 12 weeks, just in time for the Lucky 13, Swift’s 11th studio album recently fell out of favor.

Having done wonders with her unyielding conquest, now, Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ does not even find a place in the top 3.

Taylor Swift’s three-month undisputed reign at the top of the charts has officially ended. According to Billboard’s latest chart, the pop icon’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has forfeited the top spot and dropped straight to the fourth position on the Billboard 200 albums chart, moving 82,000 units in its 13th week. Although this dip was anticipated based on earlier forecasts, it remains disheartening.

Swift’s record-breaking album was replaced at No.1 by Eminem’s latest release, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grace),’ which sold 281,000 units, marking the rapper’s 11th album to reach the top of the chart. The second spot went to the K-pop group ENHYPEN, whose new record, ‘Romance: Untold’ sold 124,000 units, followed by Zach Bryan’s ‘The Great American Bar Scene,’ which moved 88,000 units in its second week.

Taylor Swift’s life is marked by extraordinary success, and the release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has made this abundantly clear. To celebrate the album’s 12-week run at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, the 34-year-old artist, who is currently on a global tour, recently expressed her gratitude on Instagram, thanking each and every fan for contributing to the album’s success by stating how she has been completely “blown away.”

“That’s never happened to an album of mine before, not even close,” the pop star wrote in her Instagram caption. ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ spent more weeks at No.1 than any of her previous albums, surpassing both ‘Fearless’ and ‘1989,’ which each had 11 nonconsecutive weeks. Although it fell short of a 13th consecutive week, the album’s extraordinary success remains undeniable.
