Taylor Swift has sought global fame with her superstardom. Yet, the enigma surrounding her is far more intricate than any other international starlet. Despite being a fixture on the public radar with her two-year globetrotting Eras Tour, her 2024 album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was a treasure trove of Easter eggs. But some hints on the record were more than just cryptic; cutting to be precise, with most of her tracks seamlessly referencing former flames, including Matty Healy.

Now, Healy appears to be turning the tables, aiming Swift with ‘Tortured’ shots of his own in his upcoming album, fueling a heartbreak anthem showdown a year later.

When ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was released last year, Swifties walked on air while her exes scrambled for cover from the lyrical storm. But now, the ominous clouds are steadily gathering over Taylor Swift, and it is unclear what the forecast holds. According to a recent report by The Sun, Matty Healy, the 1975 lead singer, and Swift’s former fling, has been working on the band’s sixth record which will supposedly address their brief relationship. The title song is called, ‘God Has Entered My Body.’

After dating shortly for about a month in 2023, the frontman was said to have inspired many tracks of Swift’s 11th studio album, including, ‘But Daddy I Love Him,’ and ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.’ A lyric on Healy’s new track, “Keep your head up, princess, your tiara is falling,” sparked whispers among music insiders, who claim the line is a thinly veiled reference to his romance with Swift. They added that even though his silence in his personal life is deafening, his songs speak volumes.

Matty Healy Responds to Taylor Swift’s Alleged “diss track” From ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

While Matty Healy’s reservations may have made him resort to music, he is not the only Taylor Swift ex breaking the silence on their past romance.

A former Taylor Swift lover opened up about their breakup

Matty Healy is a bit of a private guy, but he is not the only one on Taylor Swift’s past romance radar because so is Joe Alwyn. Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is assumed to have taken shots at both Healy and Alwyn. While the 1975 singer addressed the references before, Alwyn only recently talked about Swift in an interview with The Guardian. When asked if he intends to leave the romance in the past, Alwyn said, “That’s something for other people to do.”

Alwyn clarified he had moved on from the relationship and it was about time their fans did, too. In fact, he opened up about their relationship’s impact on his career. The host asked if Swift’s super-sized stardom overshadowed his work, and Alwyn responded that he aimed to control things he could other than what he could not. Although the former lovers never really explained the reasons behind their fallout, at least, Healy might in his upcoming release, and could easily conjure a ‘Tortured’ déjà vu.
