Setting off in March 2023, the Eras Tour brought Taylor Swift unabated success. After braving heatwaves, long-stage and flight hours, and back-to-back concerts, the singer has come down to the last ten months of her tour. Breaking from convention, the pop mega-star announced that she would no longer follow the rule of not repeating a surprise song from one venue to the other. Additionally, she also claimed that by doing away with she would be bringing “fair game” to her fans.

A key player in this decision may have stemmed from her Swifties expressing awe after their singer played a special three-song medley during the second night in Melbourne. The three-day shows, which witnessed footfalls of over 96,000 people on each occasion, also stood out for the set list that she played during their duration. At the start of The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift had an unwritten rule of playing one song from her ‘Vault’ release that never got repeated at any two shows, except from the ‘Midnights’ album.
