For the unaided, X, formerly Twitter, remains banned in China. Along with it, Instagram, and even Spotify remain outside of common Chinese access. Thus, Taylor Swift recently logged in to her Weibo account to talk to her fans. The leading social media for the people of that country had the singer post a brief message asking Swifties to “Keep singing and dancing”. The remarks came close to The Eras Tour concert movie dropping and still airing in Chinese theaters starting 31st December 2023.
A New Year’s Eve gift, the film has so far earned past $5 million in China. Additionally, the surge in revenue comes even as the movie already stands, with a global haul of over $250 million. Furthermore, the singer also acknowledged the movie’s Cinematic and Box Office Achievement nomination at the 2024 Golden Globes. Meanwhile, the film’s continued run comes even after becoming the highest-grossing concert movie of all time.
Along the lines of her movie dropping in China, the singer has already started to make waves far off in Down Under.
