Taylor Swift Defeats Ex Harry Styles, as She Takes Home Yet Another Special Record
Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' is special for many reasons. It is the first double album of Swift and the lengthiest one yet that also touched on the pop star's new romance with Travis Kelce. While her book of love has certainly unfolded a new chapter, that does not mean Swift is done giving her past flames a run for their money in the music world. Anyone who knows a thing or two about the songstress has heard about the brief romance she had with Harry Styles, which may have also seeped into the '1989' album.
While their romance is a part of history, Harry Styles still seems to be in the crosshairs of competition with Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department'.

Taylor Swift has the UK under her spell. They have not only embraced the Eras Tour whole-heartedly but have also led to a new record-breaking for the 34-year-old. Taylor Swift's latest album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', is now the longest-running #1 album of the decade in the UK. It also became the single-largest sales week for a vinyl album in the modern era, leaving behind her ex, Harry Styles's 'Harry's House'. While Swift had a first-week vinyl figure of 859,000, Styles had 182,000, as per Billboard.
This was not the first time Taylor Swift beat Harry Styles. The 'As It Was' singer boasted a fifth spot in the list of the world's highest-grossing tour with his Love on Tour. However, thanks to Eras Tour, the 'Cruel Summer' songstress leaped past Styles with over a billion sum. Apart from this competition, fans pointed out that Taylor Swift's latest album has another connection with Harry Styles.
Apparently, Taylor Swift has included clever nods to Harry Styles in one of her tracks in 'The Tortured Poets Department'.

As soon as Taylor Swift unveiled the tracklist of 'The Tortured Poets Department' earlier this year, fans zoomed in on one particular title: 'But Daddy I Love Him'. Upon further analysis, a theory began circulating online linking the sixth track of Swift's latest album to Harry Styles. The first clue was the title itself. It was seen as a clever nod to Disney's The Little Mermaid, whose original version was released in 1989. Yes, '1989'!
Styles was also offered a role in the 2023 The Little Mermaid adaptation, but he ultimately turned down the offer. The second and most significant hint came from an old picture of Styles wearing a shirt with "But Daddy I Love Him" written on it. Whether or not 'The Tortured Poets Department' subtly referenced Harry Styles, the album has undeniably surpassed 'Harry's House' in acclaim.
