Taylor Swift, as of now, stands at the absolute heart of mainstream pop culture and her impact stands undeniable. An AI attack on one of America’s most influential women has brought the working ethos of many lawmakers into work. A BBC News report highlighted rapid updates taken by Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) as well as many among the US Congress to address the issue. On its part, X spoke out that it has taken “appropriate actions” and that “further violations are immediately addressed, and the content is removed.”
Along the lines, several US lawmakers united to speak out on the issue. Unlike the UK, which passed a regulation on deepfake in 2023, the United States remains devoid of any such norms against AI. However, the attack on Taylor Swift and its impact on several millions of her followers has now made Congress consider urgent reforms and legislation to make the construction and circulation of such content illegal.
In the meantime, Swifties left nothing to fate and started their crusade against the tide of fake images.
