Several months have passed since Taylor Swift released her 11th studio album, but the pop star continues to generate buzz with ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ Although she briefly lost her consecutive streak at the top of the Billboard 200 to Eminem, Swift made a powerful comeback, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Riding the wave of the album’s success, the Eras Tour singer is now in her 15th week at the top, still holding the crown.

When ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ dropped in April, it shattered records and quickly became a fan-favorite contender for Album of the Year. With its latest achievement, Swift has once again solidified her status as a superstar.

As per the latest Billboard analysis, Taylor Swift’s 'The Tortured Poets Department' has reached its 15th week atop the Billboard 200 chart. This milestone ties Swift's record-breaking 11th studio album with Carole King’s 'Tapestry' for the third-most weeks at No. 1 among albums by female artists. King held the top spot for 15 weeks in 1971. According to Luminate, Swift’s album earned 85,000 equivalent album units in the US for the week ending August 15.

Of those 85,000 units, 57,000 came from SEA units, 28,000 from album sales, and a negligible amount from TEA units. The album also marks its eighth week at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, while it dips from No. 2 to No. 3 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. 'The Tortured Poets Department' is now officially her longest-leading album on the Billboard 200, contributing to her 84th career week at No. 1.

Prior to the week ending August 15, Taylor Swift’s 'The Tortured Poets Department' had sold fewer than 12,000 copies. However, Forbes reports that the album saw a surge of over 600% in sales from one period to the next. With 85,000 copies sold, its return to the top of the Top Album Sales Chart this week was almost inevitable. The album has now spent seven weeks at No. 1 on that chart—nearly half of its 16 total weeks on the tally.

Swift, known for releasing multiple versions of her albums, contributed to this sales surge, despite sometimes facing criticism for overshadowing artists like Billie Eilish and Ye (formerly Kanye West) with her releases. However, it is these thousands of purchases that solidify Swift's dominance on the chart, underscoring why she remains one of the biggest stars in the industry.
