Taylor Swift Claims Second Place Among VMAs’ Most-Awarded Female Artists After the 2023 Awards
Amid the excitement of the 2023 VMAs, one thing that kept people on edge was whether Taylor Swift was going to attend the event or not. Since making her VMA debut in 2008, the pop sensation has maintained her winning spree at the MTV event. Except for 2011 and 2018, the 33-year-old kept on winning at almost every VMA she showed up. Continuing her tradition, the ‘Speak Now’ creator emerged as the most decorated attendee in the 2023 event. With landing nominations in twelve categories, the ‘Blank Space’ singer was already leading the pack of nominees.
With her winning nine awards at the 2023 event, she reigned supreme at the VMAs once again. And that was not all. Owing to her historical achievement, the star claimed the second place among VMA’s most-awarded female artists as well.

Bagging a fourth win in the best video category, swift has made an enormous mark in VMA’s history. However, she is still not the most awarded celebrity at the VMAs, as Peter Gabriel took home ten awards in 1987. Swift has not only been in the race against the ‘Don’t Give Up’ singer, but is also in a tight competition with the $540 million singer, Beyoncé. Recently, Thee Pop Core shared a post on Twitter captioning it as “The Most-Awarded Female Artists in #VMAS history.”
The post featured popular singers, including Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Ariana Grande, whom the ‘1989’ singer outperformed. While Beyoncé is still at the top of the VMA leaderboard with 30 wins, Swift is just a step away with 23 wins. Taking into account the pace at which Swift is succeeding, there is a fair chance for the ‘Red’ creator to surpass the indisputable queen of Pop Music. The sensational singers have also been competing with their multi-million dollar tours that are currently taking the world by storm.
There is, however, no “Bad Blood” between the stars. Ever since the 2009 VMAs, the two music icons have supported each other on multiple occasions.

Talking about sisterhood, it would be unfair to not mention Swift’s bond with her peers in the industry. Whether it is about her sisterhood with Selena Gomez or the mutual admiration she shares with Queen Bey, the ‘Lover’ singer challenged every stereotype around female friendships. And Beyoncé returned the same sentiment as well. When the infamous Kanye West incident took place at the 2009 VMAs, it was Beyoncé who stood up for Swift and even cried after the event.
While the internet remembered the ‘Donda’ rapper’s infamous mic snatch once again, Beyoncé’s gesture of letting the newcomer have her moment went unnoticed. The ‘Lemonade’ artist even crafted a heartfelt note to Swift after she won at the Grammys. Giving Ye a taste of his own medicine, Queen Bey skipped his wedding to attend Swift’s birthday party as well. While the list of their adorable friendship moments keeps growing, Swifties are hoping to see their idol at the top of the leaderboard in the next VMAs.
