Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter: A Timeline Tracking Their 7 Years of Friendship That Hits All the Right Notes
The entertainment capital is nothing without its dreamers and their larger-than-life dreams. But it is also as good as null if there is an absence of a force of nature who can answer the prayers. Luckily, the record industry has its own constellation of stars who not only fancy those ambitions but also put their best foot forward to make others’ dreams come true, like the pop princess Taylor Swift. While artists like Ice Spice and Suki Waterhouse have already laid bare Swift’s contribution to fulfilling their destinies, another name that pops up just as frequently in such endorsement is Sabrina Carpenter.
From covering Swift's songs to opening for the Eras Tour, here is a glimpse into their friendship over the years.

Sabrina Carpenter did not shy away from wearing the top fan badge for Taylor Swift as early as 2008 when the nine-year-old was filmed singing, ‘White Horse,’ followed by a cover of ‘Picture to Burn’ uploaded on YouTube a year later. Although she was too young to enter a contest to meet Swift then, Carpenter made it to the first Swift concert in 2010. However, it was not until 2017 that she finally met the ‘Karma’ singer, Carpenter, revealed to Who What Wear.
Reflecting on the first encounter, the ‘Short n’ Sweet’ star already felt the sisterly vibes from Swift. However, the sisterhood began getting all the more serious when Carpenter’s childhood female crush sent a ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ package before the album’s release in November. A year later in February, speaking with GQ for a cover story, Carpenter namedropped Taylor Swift fearlessly when asked about the artists who inspire her.
The realization had already struck, but the following years highlighted their ultimate sisterhood in full display.

A few months after Sabrina Carpenter’s namedrop for Taylor Swift, the pop stars were caught in the cameras at the VMA after-party and later in November, at the American Music Awards. But last year, Carpenter and Swift began appearing together multiple times like at the Grammys after party followed by the ‘Please, Please, Please’ singer’s presence at the Eras Tour in Philadelphia in May in a VIP tent.
Little did fans know Swift would soon, precisely a month later, announce Carpenter to be on the South American leg of Eras Tour. After her dream moment, the Disney star was spotted with Swift at the VMAs, a Chiefs game in October, and even Swift’s birthday in December. By 2024, Carpenter joined her again on the Australian Eras Tour. The covers and fangirl interviews never stopped, but earning bestie status from a celebrity crush was no small feat—and Carpenter’s dreamy look says it all.
