Staged Romance? Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Shocking 'Breakup Contract' Leaks Online

When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went public with their relationship, it almost immediately received the label of a ‘PR stunt’. Given how the media and celebrities have a knack for spinning tales of faux romances, one cannot really blame fans for jumping to conclusions that quick. Especially with the flood of PDA-packed moments in the early days of their relationship, fans were led to believe that this love story was cooked in a lab by their agents. But as time passed, the narrative also changed, and the world hailed Kelce as Swift’s true soulmate.

Just as fans were expecting the couple to take the next step, an alleged ‘Breakup Contract’ surfaced online, branding their love as a sham.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship has once again found itself under scrutiny after a mysterious document, alleging that the couple has a breakup scheduled for later this month, surfaced on Reddit. According to this document, supposedly from Travis Kelce’s PR firm, Full Scope, it not only pinpointed the breakup date as September 28, but also outlined a plan to issue an official statement three days later, after the media frenzy had cooled down. The LA-based PR firm, however, was quick to shoot down these claims.

They claimed that the viral contract was "false and fabricated" in a statement. In fact, Travis Kelce and his team have gone so far as to enlist a legal team to track down the culprits behind this alleged forgery. While it is entirely possible that this document was nothing more than a well-crafted hoax, fans have plenty of reasons to question whether Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship might be more of a publicity stunt than a genuine romance.

Last year, UFC star Paige VanZant put forth some sound arguments as to why she believed that Swift and Kelce's relationship was “100% fake.”

When famous people date or marry each other, it often makes a certain kind of sense beyond just the PR perks. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are probably the biggest examples of it. This is a big point that people make when they question whether Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are genuinely a couple, including Paige VanZant. On her podcast Page and Austin, VanZant suggested that their relationship is “a huge publicity play on both fronts.”

“It’s good for Taylor Swift, it’s good for the NFL, it’s good for Travis Kelce,” added VanZant. Her arguments are not completely off the mark, considering the NFL saw a big boost in viewership when Swift started attending the matches, and similarly, the songstress has broadened her fanbase by mingling in the sports world. However, history shows that in the realm of celebrity relationships, prediction is tricky- and even the most seemingly suspicious of relationships can very well flourish.
