The song which debuted and stayed on to massive fan reception and global fandom has officially created history. The Afrobeats category debuts this year to celebrate the growing musical genre. Moreover, the characteristic chanted vocals and unforgettable beats make it hard to miss. Taking to the stage, the collaborator duo expressed their sincere friendship and lauded each other’s dedication to the same. Gomez was all praises for Rema who delivered an unparalleled vocal to the song.

Meanwhile, Rema on his end, thanked Gomez. Further, he proceeded to thank all the artists down the line who made and popularized the genre in the first place. Notably, ‘Calm Down’ was a record-breaking hit that held its place on the Billboard records for a staggering 41 weeks! The song also achieved the milestone of one billion streams on Spotify, making it the first African artist-led track to join the Billions Club on Spotify. Also, the song now will have forever cemented its legacy as the winner of the inaugural Best Afrobeat MVA.
