“Saying some wild sh*t..” – Nick Cannon Who Faced Backlash Over His Comments Believes Kanye West Needs Help Too
Nick Cannon was on the same ship as Kanye West once. The ‘Donda’ singer has just started returning to the limelight after a while, following a series of controversies. Both fans and celebrities tried to encourage him to make amends and save his career, but all in vain. Now he has begun returning to work slowly but at the cost of him losing his billionaire status.
As a celebrity, any wrong statement costs them big time, something both Ye and Cannon went through. The latter got out of it after making amends and learning his way through. Now, he wants Ye to do the same, urging fans to not give up on the rapper.

Having been part of controversies, Cannon understands better than everyone the cost of saying the wrong things. On 7th May, he talked to the Los Angeles Times about his own transgressions and how he came out of it. It goes back to his Cannon’s Class podcast with Professor Griff, where he referred to Jewish people and white people as ‘true savages’. It led to an instant backlash, especially considering the past and plight of Jewish people. The anti-Semitic remarks led ViacomCBS to fire Cannon, and he lost his podcast and posting gigs.
On the topic of West, he said, “Kanye is saying some wild s**t“. He does not believe that the rapper means what he says. The host asked the ‘Gold Digger’ singer to seek help from the leader of the Jewish community while requesting people not to give up on Ye. He feels that the rapper was just in need of some love and attention.
Ye disappeared on social media and never formally apologized for his comments. His retraction came in the form of a unique post instead.
How Ye’s amends differed from Cannon’s method
After the anti-Semitic remarks and disappearing from social media, Kanye West put photos of 21 Jump Street claiming that Jonah Hill made him like Jewish people again in a now-deleted Instagram post. In an interview from last year, he even apologized to Lex Fridman for the comments and the entire community for ‘hurting sentiments’.
