"Sabrina deserves that #1"- Fans Aren't Letting Their ‘Taydaughter’ Be Overshadowed by Travis Scott’s Chart Threat
Sabrina Carpenter is currently dominating the airwaves with her newly released album, 'Short n’ Sweet'. With her summer earworms, 'Please Please Please' and 'Espresso,' the Disney alumna has already hit the milestone of being the first female artist to hold both the number one and number two positions on the singles chart for three consecutive weeks. Now, with a collection of ten more catchy tracks in her sixth full-length album, Carpenter could very well hit the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for her album. However, there is just one hurdle in between.
HITS Daily Double has suggested Travis Scott could “play the role of spoiler” in Sabrina Carpenter's chances at #1 on the Billboard 200. The reason being the tenth anniversary of Scott’s 2014 mixtape, 'Days Before Rodeo', which he recently re-released with exclusive bonus tracks. The mixtape also got an official music video more than a decade after its original release. To grasp the hype behind the mixtape, the internet’s reaction to the one-night-only show at the Masquerade is enough.

This buzz, along with Scott’s reputation for drawing massive D2C sales, could hinder Sabrina Carpenter’s chances of climbing to the top of the charts with her album. Nonetheless, 'Short n’ Sweet' has also been voted as the current favorite album of the masses, according to a poll done by Billboard. Plus, Carpenter’s thriller-inspired music video for 'Taste,' featuring Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega, has also drawn a lot of attention for the album. And fans are making sure that all this hard work does not go unnoticed.
Fans are supporting the emerging pop sensation, Sabrina Carpenter, determined to not let her thunder be stolen by a decade-old re-release.
Fans are rallying for Sabrina Carpenter to top the charts over Travis Scott
Sabrina Carpenter is leaving no room for interpretation that she is on her way to becoming the greatest pop star of the era. Fans are even drawing parallels between her and Taylor Swift. Carpenter, as a musician, drew significant attention with her Eras Tour opening act, and the excitement around her has remained steady ever since. And now, Swifties and Carpenters have joined forces to get the ‘Nonsense’ singer to the top of the Billboard 200, shouting how "Sabrina deserves that #1."
Many fans were also surprised as they were unaware that Travis Scott had even dropped anything recently. They pointed out how a ten-year-old mixtape does not deserve so much hype.

Despite potential obstacles, with Sabrina Carpenter’s latest album currently amassing over 50 million streams on Spotify compared to a mere five million for Scott’s re-released mixtape, it seems like a tall order for the rapper to outshine the songstress on the charts.
