Rolling Stone's Jolting Rating to Put Ye's 'The Life of Pablo' at 7th Worst in This List Leaves Internet Stunned
The hip-hop world is waiting for Ye, once known as Kanye West, to bless their ears with some music that would create streaming history, as the time rapper did with his seventh studio album, 'The Life of Pablo'. The 2016 album became Ye’s first album to be RIAA-certified platinum from streaming alone. One of the highlights of the album was its cover, which made the 'Pablo Orange' iconic.
Rolling Stone, however, feels otherwise. The publication recently released a list of its worst album covers. And 'The Life of Pablo' was ranked seventh on the list. "Does he actually believe that this is a compelling album cover," asked Rolling Stone. The album was the most vulnerable creation of the rapper, revealing how uncertain he was of his life. And the cover was completely in line with its themes.

The lonely bear in the bleachers portrayed the loneliness and the internal strife Ye was dealing with at that point in time. Along with that, the vintage soft orange backdrop of the artwork with the faded photos aptly showcased the 'Donda' rapper's juxtaposed maturity, coupled with self-questioning. The cover also featured a figure of a woman who was very similar to his now-ex, Kim Kardashian.
Ye's army on X has been defending the rapper ever since Rolling Stone made released its judgement about 'The Life of Pablo' cover.
Ye fans are furious about Rolling Stone's list
'The Life of Pablo' is an album that still finds itself in fan discussions, especially regarding who Ye is referring to in the album. Nonetheless, the aesthetics of the cover and Ye taking his experimentation from 'Yeezus' forward while also mixing in some of that old Ye instantly resonated with fans. As for Rolling Stone, it has pissed off many artists before, including Ye's long-time rival, Drake. And now with its latest list, Ye's fans are fuming over the rankings and are accusing the publication of stirring up drama just for "clout".
There were, however, many fans who agreed with Rolling Stone's verdict to some extent.

The majority, however, completely disagreed with the claim. They believed that the album cover matched the theme of 'The Life of Pablo' in the most perfect way possible. And some even claimed that this low ranking was done keeping in mind the recent controversies Ye has been entangled in. While it is no secret that Ye is going through a rough patch, seeing his fans united is something that proves that rapper would forever be iconic.
