Rihanna Takes Over Super Bowl As Her Performance Breaks Viewing Records
The Super Bowl performances are one of the most iconic events around the globe. Each year, the program draws one of the highest audiences with people from around the world tuning in. However, undoubtedly the halftime shows at the Super Bowl are iconic. The halftime performances have now grown and evolved into a spectacle that is one of the most anticipated music events of the year. Over the years, we have witnessed a bunch of our favorite artists deliver some immaculate performances.
Not long ago, legendary singer and rapper Rihanna took the world by storm with her Super Bowl performance. And that wasn’t all it did apparently.

Rihanna is a name not unknown unless one is living under a rock. The ‘What’s My Name’ artist is perhaps one of the most popular singers there is. Not only is she the most successful female artist, the singer has sold nearly 250 million records throughout her career. And previously in February, the ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker set another benchmark with her iconic half time Super Bowl performance.
During Super Bowl LVII between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, Rihanna’s performance became the most viewed performance of all time. Her performance took over as the most watched Super Bowl halftime show garnering nearly 121 million viewers. Her label, Roc Nation, confirmed the same recently.
This was the first time the Love The Way You Lie artist performed live in nearly 5 years. Needless to say, Rihanna left the fans in awe as she performed some of her most iconic songs, including ‘All Of The Lights‘ and ‘Umbrella’. Previously, the ‘Roar’ hitmaker Katy Perry held the mantle of the most viewed performance back in 2015.
Soon after her show, Rihanna even revealed an upcoming album in an interview, reported NME. Notably, Kanye West was also supposed to perform at the Super Bowl. However, owing to his anti-semitic controversies, the rapper failed to join.
Rihanna, however, gave us a memorable performance, not without some criticism.
Why Rihanna received backlash for her Super Bowl performance

Rihanna’s halftime show at the Super Bowl became subject to criticism from the masses. Despite an iconic performance, the fans were not having it as they called out the singer for singing her song that also featured Kanye West. Interestingly, Rihanna even donned on a similar outfit to West.
We have often witnessed the ‘Flashing Lights’ singer wear all-red outfits during his show. Likewise, even Rihanna wore an all-red outfit during her performance. Rihanna is amongst the few celebrities who rock with West despite all the controversies and problems that surround him.
