Taylor Swift is one of those superstars with many feathers to her hat, renowned not only for her myriad achievements but particularly for her excellence in the art of surprise. This year, she left her dedicated fanbase nearly fumbling, if not spellbound, with the release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ amid widespread anticipation for ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version).’ Nevertheless, fans, still reeling from her career-best record, are once again unraveling fresh mysteries, possibly in anticipation of the upcoming ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version),’ as they keenly observe the obvious.

During her recent Eras Tour stop in Milan, Italy, Taylor Swift surprised fans with two unexpected mashups during the secret song segment of the concert. However, things took an unexpected turn when, while performing a medley of ‘Reputation’s’ ‘Getaway Car’ and ‘Out of the Woods’ on piano, the instrument malfunctioned when she began. Now, fans appear convinced that the malfunction was staged, noting that the technician who came to fix it did not make a serious attempt while pointing out a snake hiss that left him laughing hysterically upon opening the lid.

Swift later reopened the lid so fans could hear the alleged hiss again before jokingly declaring success with a laugh. Her ‘Reputation’ album's theme, famously associated with snakes, was a motif featured prominently in her set designs throughout her Reputation Stadium Tour. At a concert in Arizona in 2018, Swift explained that she adopted the snake symbol to reclaim it from the negative connotations it had acquired when she was hounded with online criticism by snake emojis.

With the reported reappearance of hisses resembling another enigma, it appears Swift is subtly slithering into ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version),’ despite its initial dismissal with the announcement of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ at this year’s Grammy Awards.
