Rap Civil War: Ye Enters the Fray With a Sick Bar at Drake, Adds to the Kendrick Lamar Feud
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has finally entered the rap beef of 2024. Controversy has been Ye’s shadow ever since the rapper ascended to the peak of Hip Hop. Known as one of the most divisive figures in the art world, the MC has courted trouble for his bold actions and unfiltered statements. Apart from that, the rap maestro also has a colorful history of beef with other artists and has landed on the wrong side of many MCs over the years. And with the biggest rap feud of 2024 heating up, it is only natural that Ye would want to add his own two cents to it.
As fans were expecting, the rapper recently threw his own shade into the already fiery feud between the top dogs of the rap game.

Recently, there has been this rumor going around on social media that Ye has whipped up a remix of 'Like That' to take shots at Drake and J. Cole. It came from a mystery source that a lot of fans were skeptical about, but turns out, it was indeed true. Ye just shared a look at the new diss track called ‘Like That (Remix)’ and premiered it live on his friend Justin Laboy's show The Download. "Where's Lucian? Serve your master, n**** / Caught a little bag for your masters, didn't ya? / Lifetime deal, I feel bad for n**s", the lyrics read.
The show began with a line borrowed straight from the track by Future, Kendrick Lamar, and Metro Boomin, 'Like That'. It got a lot of people thinking it was aimed at Drake and J. Cole's hit 'First Person Shooter'. While Ye only gave fans a taste of the track on the show, it is uncertain whether the longer version that seemed to have leaked online was real or just something made by fans or AI. Nonetheless, given Ye’s history with both Drake and J. Cole, this diss track is not very surprising.
In case it has been slipped off anyone’s memories, Drake and J. Cole have been at the center of some of Ye's biggest feuds in the industry.

The ongoing feud between Drake and Ye has been a hot topic for more than a decade now. Although they started off as friends, their relationship soon turned sour due to a string of misunderstandings. From trading verbal jabs to throwing shade in tweets, emojis, lyrics, and diss tracks during the late 2010s, especially during Ye's association with Pusha-T, their beef has only intensified over the years. Similar to that, Ye and J. Cole have also crossed paths numerous times over the years.
It all started when J. Cole dropped his album, 'Born Sinner' on the same day as Ye's 'Yeezus'. Despite the constant back-and-forth of apologies and rumored settlements, the tension never truly simmered down between them. But now, with Kendrick Lamar throwing shade at both Drake and J. Cole, Ye might just take the opportunity to finally squash his long-running feud with the rappers.
