“Peak coming”- Fans Are Onboard as BLACKPINK’s Jennie Announces New Collaboration With Grammy-Winner Childish Gambino
Jennie has been making exciting strides in the industry lately. From her TV debut with The Idol to her first solo single release with ‘SOLO,’ to the launch of her own label, and her upcoming Coachella debut—Jennie is stepping out of her comfort zone to explore new opportunities. Now, she is about to release her first album as a solo artist too. And in this journey, she has teamed up with some truly iconic pop stars.
BLACKPINK member Jennie recently announced her debut studio album, 'Ruby.' After announcing the album on her X handle, Jennie shared a brief 33-second trailer on her YouTube channel as well. In the trailer, the K-pop star teased that the album features collaborations with the five-time Grammy-winning rapper, Childish Gambino. Global artists like Dua Lipa, Doechii, Dominic Fike, and Kali Uchis are also part of 'Ruby'. The album will include several physical release options, such as a special 'JENNIE Only' Audio version with no features. According to Odd Atelier, her own independent label launched in 2023, the album will consist of 15 songs, including her single previous ‘Mantra.’ And fans are beyond excited about the news.
The collaboration, in particular, has sparked even more interest in the upcoming project.
Fans are predicting a chart-topping hit with Jennie’s announcement
Jennie began her 'Ruby' journey in Los Angeles last year, where she worked on 99% of the project. This album is part of her continued effort to break free from entities and labels and move forward as an independent artist. And Jennie is not the only K-pop or BLACKPINK artist who ventured into it. However, more than her first solo album, fans seem especially intrigued by her collaboration with Childish Gambino.
Many fans are already anticipating a banger on the way, after learning about the collaborators, with comments like “peak coming.”
