This year the world was blessed with many different jaw-dropping moments from the music world. From Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ concert to Beyoncé’s recently released Renaissance film after her concert tour earlier this year, fans bore witness to an amazing year for the artists. However, while their tours may have paid off for them, they may not have always been great for their fans’ families.

Although they both managed to break records and stun, their concerts could have been the center of a family rift. In fact, it was recently revealed that most Gen-Z would choose to miss out on family functions just to catch one of these shows.

According to reports from StubHub, surveys showed that 60% of the Gen-Z population consider Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s concerts to be “major life events.” The reports also showed that those same people would skip a family event just to spend a couple of hours watching these artists perform. While that might not be the outlook everyone has, over the years it has surely changed from its former family focus.

From the “birth of a family member” to the graduation of a sibling or loved one, most of the individuals said that they would skip it for a concert. Although Swift and the Queen Bey dominated the music scene this year, they were not the only artists that fans were looking their minds over. In fact, some of the other artists have been around since the early 2000s and still have massive fan followings.

Admittedly, this year was iconic for the 33-year-old pop sensation with her now being named Time’s Person of the Year, but artists like Adele, P!nk, and more also made quite the impact.

The biggest female artists of the year

Apart from Taylor Swift and Beyoncé taking over the world this year, there were other female artists who also stole fan attention. From Adele and her Las Vegas act to P! nk’s traveling tour, these two artists also ended up selling massive numbers of tickets to their shows this year. In fact, the same report also revealed that the number of sales made by these four icons together made up about 73% of this year’s total sales.

While that was already a shock, the reports stated that they collectively “tripled the sales of the entire top ten artists in 2022.” However, last year, Swift and Adele were on the list again as they made up 33% of sales just last year. With them reaching massive levels of success like this, it will be interesting to see what they have in store for next year.
