“Other brands can be…”- How a 23-Year-Old Jaden Smith Laid Big Plans for MSFTS and Its Effects
Jaden Smith has always been the bearer of pop culture. From his music to his fashion, the 25-year-old son of actor Will Smith has created an empire of his own. With celebrities making more socially conscious choices, the ‘Icon’ singer came into the game fairly young. And, with his clothing brand, the American rapper chose to drive a change among fashion labels and foster a more environmentally friendly fashion ecosystem.
From gender-neutral clothes to a sustainable line, The Karate Kid actor recently opened his new store for his clothing brand, MSFTS. But back in 2021, he laid major plans for the brand.

The actor, who stepped into the world of Hollywood with his debut in The Pursuit of Happyness, has always challenged norms. His clothing brand MSFTS was designed to challenge and push the system towards a more conscious and inclusive approach. And his suitable clothing label didn’t come as any surprise. In an interview with W Magazine back in 2021, the actor-cum-singer revealed his big plans of launching a vegan leather line.
The actor passionately spoke of apple leather, and how he had come across the faux leather in his visit to Italy. He wanted a full apple leather line whilst upcycling old clothes. He wished that people donated clothes instead of throwing them away, hoping to reduce the carbon footprint. The Teen Choice Award winner said, “I’m trying to create a new status quo within the fashion industry so that moving forward, other brands can be inspired by what we’re doing.”
While the ‘Way Up’ singer has even had his own $1,500,000 worth of custom-made and sustainable Livery, he definitely has put his foot forward to create a lasting impact on the environment. Meanwhile, other Hollywood celebrities have jumped on the wagon too.
