“one of the most…” Adidas CEO Opens Up on Kanye West and the Yeezy Deal
Adidas did a flip-flop. No, not a product launch, but rather a change of heart. The much-talked-about Ad-das-Yeezy deal continues its roller-coaster ride of ups and downs. After breaking away with Kanye West last year over his controversial remarks, the new Adidas CEO has something to say about it. After incurring heavy losses and a dragged-out lawsuit, the sportswear company had somewhat patched up with Ye.
However, now the chair of the $64 billion company takes his take on West. And he immediately changes his tone to distance away from his predecessor.

Adidas sent massive ripples out twice last year. First, when it stocked and sold out massive numbers of its Yeezy branded goods. Secondly, amidst high drama, it cut ties with the West-helmed company altogether. Although the decision was made because of West’s frequent controversies and anti-Semitic remarks, it did have collateral damage to the sportswear giant. After incurring a loss of about $540 million, the new Adidas CEO, Bjørn Gulden, called Kanye West “one of the most creative people in the world”.
The deal which saw West becoming a billionaire had its lows. After the fallout, Adidas incurred massive losses and a stockpile of unsold Yeezy merchandise. Moreover, it also filed a lawsuit against Ye to freeze $75 million Yeezy assets, which did not go in its favor. Now, in what could signal another possible collaboration, the CEO also went on to add that he did not think that the rapper meant the hammering statements that he had made. With his acknowledgment of West, it seems that there might be a potential re-collaboration.
Moreover, if Adidas indeed does go through with another Yeezy deal, Kanye West could be looking at a revival of his fortunes as the rapper is on the cusp of launching his new music.

Kanye West and Bianca Censori found themselves in troubled waters; both literally and metaphorically. It has been now widely known that the couple was in the midst of an Italian outrage over public indecency. Following this, the rapper was spotted outside the country’s borders, last in Madrid. However, at the time of the incident, West was said to have finished some songs and was rehearsing them in a makeshift studio for his next album. Further, the presence of his frequent collaborators had also sealed the claim.
Thus, it is now unknown as to when the album will be out. However, he has teased his new music on several occasions lately. A verse shared with Albe Back’s ‘Israel’, followed by new previews for Steve Lacy, stood out. Moreover, West also attended the Mowalola Fashion event in London and had verses from his new music play in the background. As such, when his latest album is to land, is anyone’s guess. Regardless, Ye now looks set for success.
