There is no shortage of beef in the music industry these days, and one does not even need to be a rapper for that anymore. The year 2024, in particular, has been inundated with conflicts, clashes, and controversies right from the get-go. While Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s infamous diss showdown has hogged most of the spotlight, others are not far behind. Singers Omar Apollo and Troye Sivan are rumored to be the latest names in the industry's beef stew.

Omar Apollo, however, has made it clear that the beef was indeed just fragments of fans’ imaginations and never existed. The singer shared a tweet calling these rumors "hilarious". To further reassure that he still shares a close bond with Troye Sivan, Apollo revealed that they both met their parents at the last show they did together. He also took a jab at fans and the practice of baking rumors, saying, "i get it tho, negativity is appealing i expect nothing less on this app".

Apollo and Sivan have been close friends for years. In a new interview with VMan, they recalled their first meeting at a Loewe fashion show. Both artists, surprisingly, noticed each other for the clothes they were wearing. "You were wearing that coat that was shedding on me," said Sivan to Apollo. Meanwhile, the 'Useless' singer remembered Sivan being "pantless" at the Loewe show. Despite such a bond between the two, the beef rumor somehow still caught on.

Apollo's clarification on the speculations, however, sparked some interesting reactions from netizens.

Omar Apollo and Troye Sivan are not the only artists caught up in a fan-made beef. Even Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, who have always shared an amicable bond, were accused of similar conflicts. However, Apollo and Sivan's fictional feud seems to have flown under the radar for most fans. They all appeared quite puzzled and clueless as to where the whole drama originated. 

Fans asked Apollo to explain what he meant in simpler "pop terms". 

Meanwhile, many felt that it was the artists, and not the fans, making up the fake beef.

Many fans also speculated that this tweet was shared in a move to create buzz for an upcoming collaboration between Apollo and Sivan. And they have reasons to believe that considering there is no such prominent trail of beef rumors about them on the web.
