André 3000 is a unique voice in the world of rap whose views on the Kendrick Lamar-Drake feud are unlike any other. While staying unusually quiet throughout the rap battle, unlike artists such as Camila Cabello, Fivio Foreign, and Too Short, André 3000 recently shared his thoughts with Crack Magazine. The OutKast rapper expressed his disappointment over the feud, showing visible emotion while contemplating that he was "not sure it’s even worth it anymore."

André 3000 contrasted the old-school rap battles, where confrontations took place in the park to today’s, which now extend beyond just the artists involved. His concern was for those who work for Drake and Lamar, emphasizing that these heated exchanges put their “livelihoods, empires, companies, deals” at risk. André 3000 noted that those with nothing to lose might as well go for it, but for those with much at stake, it might be worth re-evaluating the value of such confrontations.

Despite Kendrick Lamar Diss Win, Drake Has the Last Laugh

Even though he noted the increased stakes in rap battles from his early days to now, André 3000 welcomed K-Dot’s reference in one of his diss tracks with open arms.

André 3000 holds a unique position in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake narrative, having previously collaborated with both artists. He worked with Lamar on several occasions, including the track ‘One of You,’ though none of their collaborations have been officially released. With Drake, André 3000 contributed to ‘The Real Her’ and ‘I Do (Remix).’ Despite his visible disappointment with the feud between the rappers, André 3000 acknowledged and appreciated K-Dot’s reference to him on the track, ‘Like That.’

Regardless of the context, André 3000 told Crack Magazine, “As a 49-year-old rapper, you’re just happy to get a shout-out.” He also conceded that Lamar truly excels in delivering lyrical blows. While he did not declare a winner between Drake and Lamar, his insights introduced a new perspective. Whether this will prompt reflection or ignite another intense feud, however, remains to be seen.
