Months After Making Rounds for Grammys, Prince Harry and More Snubbed as the 2024 Nominations Roll Out
In the ever-evolving symphony of the music industry, the anticipation surrounding the Grammys serves as a crescendo. It usually echoes with the names of artists who have left an indelible mark on the auditory landscape. However, with the 2024 Grammy nominations out, there are quite a few notable figures who were missing from the nomination pool. One among them is no other than Prince Harry.
His bombshell memoir was recently put up for consideration by its publishing house. Although that may not have amounted to much, the royal is not the only one who ended up being snubbed by the association.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry made his way onto the Grammy consideration list. It may not have been for his musical prowess, but he got recognition for his Spare audiobook recording. For a while, that had given supporters of the Duke the hope that he might win one of the esteemed awards. However, those dreams ended up being crushed when the actual nominations rolled out.
Prince Harry and his fans were not the only ones with heavy hearts as even Greta Gerwig’s Barbie did not receive an ‘Album of the Year’ nomination for its soundtrack. While Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and more were recognized for their recent musical efforts, it looks like country artists like Luke Combs and Zach Bryan were pushed aside. It was surprising as both artists were hailed for their songs, ‘Fast Car’ and ‘I See Everything’ respectively.
It may have been a sad year for country musicians and lovers. However, many predictions about Taylor Swift and other artists like SZA proved to be right.
A female-dominated Grammy nomination year
The world is used to seeing rappers like Kanye West and more dominating the music field. However, this year’s Grammy nomination list proves that it is the year for women to take the lead. Although Taylor Swift swept the VMAs earlier this year, the Grammy spotlight shone on SZA as she ended up with 9 nominations for her album ‘SOS’ and its songs.

Swift is not too far behind with 6 nominations. However, she could make Grammy history if she was to win ‘Album of the Year’ once again. It would make her the only artist to ever bag that category 4 times. Even Olivia Rodrigo is catching up in the race as she ended up with 6 nominations this year for her album, ‘GUTS’ and her song, ‘Vampire.’
