Ye, formerly Kanye West, has been a force to reckon with in showbiz. Not only because of the sonic streak he maintains, but also due to the vision with which he excels. Although the Atlanta-born rapper has been undergoing a rough patch lately, Ye has not exactly done much to watch his steps and get his ducks in a row. However, following his remarks against the late Virgil Abloh, a past collaborator and friend, the artist took a crude stance, responding to a now-deleted post on X, “Money don’t fix betrayal,” as fans dubbed him “salty.”
In less than 2 months, the ‘Vultures’ rapper fired the shots at Virgil Abloh twice. However, shortly after, a fan went out to call out the rapper for getting sour because Abloh “was LVs creative director,” but not him. They even pointed out Ye is a “BILLIONAIRE” and should get over it, but he could not help but break the myth. While it may look like money puts a band-aid on everything, according to the rapper, it only adds salt to the open wound.

Ye went unhinged on his latest interview with DJ Akademiks. The latter showed off a conversation over the weekend on Rumble, and upon being asked the reason behind his remarks against Virgil Abloh, he simply declared, “I’m evil.” Previously, the rapper claimed Abloh “USED” him only to go completely against him in a separate tweet dating back to February.
While it almost looked like the F-bombs would never hit the brakes, with Ye pulling down the post in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, all that remains is a dazing fog. However, here is a rundown of Ye’s history with Virgil Abloh for the unversed.
What went south between Ye and Virgil Abloh?
Ye has made more haters than friends in recent times, but the tale of him and Virgil Abloh goes way back. According to Vogue, Ye and Abloh met at a Chicago print shop in 2009 before interning for Fendi. By 2010, the latter joined his creative agency, Donda. Abloh served as the art director for ‘Watch the Throne.’ Although they collaborated on multiple occasions, things supposedly got sour when Abloh became the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection.

While Abloh was listed as the creative director of Donda in several outlets, Ye set the record straight in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he was a “creative collaborator.” As per TMZ, the beef was even referenced in some of his tracks, but all seemed well when they reunited at the Paris Louis show in 2018. While it is difficult to say what triggered a nerve again, it looks like the fans are not sitting well with the controversy anymore.
