“Make A Wish kid”- Fans Brutally Troll Lil Wayne Sympathizers as Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Hype Takes Air

Published 09/10/2024, 3:27 AM EDT

From landing in the bad books of big-impact artists in the record world to headlining the Super Bowl LIX halftime, Kendrick Lamar has literally shown why he is ‘Not Like Us’. But the lingering sparks from his showdown with Drake still flicker with enough potency to ignite another round of fireworks on the big stage. Master P’s suggestion to throw Lil Wayne into the halftime mix has only fanned the flames, even though the mastermind behind the idea already felt the heat from K-Dot’s fan club. However, with no slowing down on the pleas, Wayne now finds himself in the line of fire, while his sympathizers brace for impact.

When Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for Super Bowl LIX, Master P quickly started rallying for Lil Wayne to join the show. Despite Master P’s reasoning with Wayne’s New Orleans roots and legendary status, Lamar’s supporters, armed with their own Super Bowl trivia, clapped back. Wayne managed to dodge the first wave of trolling when the initiator took the heat, but after relentless pleas, GoodAssSub on X swiped at him recently, citing how his sympathizers treat him like a “Make A Wish kid”.

The fans initially called out Wayne's connection to Drake, dubbing him the "label boss" and shooting down the idea. Even though Nicki Minaj was on board with Master P’s pitch, evidenced in her fiery rant for overlooking her suggestion, some folks saw more key players, like politics and legalities. Charlamagne Tha God recently addressed something similar to The Breakfast Club podcast, insisting Drake’s lawyers must be working overtime to keep Lamar from performing ‘Not Like Us’ at the Super Bowl.

Fans Go Wild as Lil Wayne Puts His Spin on Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ in Las Vegas

While Charlamagne Tha God suspects the NFL and Roc Nation are buried under a legal paperwork avalanche, Lamar’s fans think Wayne’s supporters, in their quest to back their guy, have instead left him deep in a meme mayhem.

Kendrick Lamar fans’ hate parade for Lil Wayne supporters has shots fired at the rapper

Nicki Minaj’s no-holds-barred rant suggested that Jay-Z’s ego and dislike for her and Drake are to blame for Lil Wayne’s current backlash. However, fans have their own spin on the situation. They argued Wayne did not even push for the spotlight—his fanbase did all the talking for him, making him look more like a pity party guest than a 41-year-old rap icon.

Many fans jumped on Charlamagne Tha God’s conspiracy train, while others could not help but wonder if Wayne even knows about the storm brewing around him.

As more artists jump on the speculation bandwagon about what will happen at the Super Bowl halftime show, the reasons they are throwing around are spicier than the usual fan theories, which are notorious for being over the top. With the heat creeping closer to Wayne’s front porch despite his intended or unintended distance, it remains to be seen whether the fire exempts bystanders.
