Lil Nas X is no stranger to backlash. While the rapper has had multiple chart-topping hits over the years, some of his work has garnered outrage for various reasons. Although it might have begun with his song, ‘MONTERO’, it seems that the singer had been working on another controversial song. In a post on X, it was revealed that a few scenes from Lil Nas X’s ‘J CHRIST’ video would feature a few somewhat familiar faces. In the screenshots that made their way online, fans could see impersonators who looked like Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, and even Barack Obama. While some of them looked convincing, others did not.
Although the news of the singer having impersonators broke back in November, this was the first time that fans got to see what they could expect from the music video. While it may be the 24-year-old’s comeback to music, not everyone seems to be looking forward to it. However, there is no doubt that the track will end up getting a lot of attention once it is finally released.
While some of his celebrity impersonator choices fell a little short, the hype for his upcoming song has not seemed to die down just yet. If anything, it ended up making his fans more antsy for the song’s release.
